Was I Wrong?
Someone came up to me the other day, and went on about how they seen the Green Slurpee video, and the Payback joint. He then went on to say “Yea im working on some stuff too. I kinda need someone on some tracks and a producer.”
I say “yea I don’t produce for people anymore. Only myself and my iLLmont fam. When I was asking people to get on things with me for “CLDV” noone answered my phone calls. When I put out a beat tape for cats noone downloaded it. And you probly want all your stuff (record, mix, write) done for free? right?”
Now. I know for a fact that he seen ALL the iLLmont stuff. Realized I was in the group, and that I was not joking around when a year ago I said “you know what, im gonna make an album as an MC”. He wants to capitalize on the iLLmont/Khalil Who stuff thats been and will be done.
He thinks that if I do a song with him it’ll get on a blog somewhere. I’m not that big yet.
Now was I wrong for proceeding to tell him if you aren’t a select few that i know can get down, a Sleeper (Kass, J-star, Bee-EZ), or iLLmont, I’m not working for free? Because it’s work. This is how I will make my money in the future.
